As the house in which Venus finds her joy, many of the significations of the Fifth House stay true to the goddess’ character: pleasure, fun, fertility, love. Yet, within the Fifth House also reside complex mysteries, suggested by the presence of another goddess: Fortuna. In Hellenistic astrology, the Fifth House was known as Bona Fortuna, or Good Fortune, bringing us the beneficent side of the capricious Fortuna. Additionally, the location of the Fifth House in the night sect of the chart offers the psyche a vast playground for the creative impulses of the imagination. Planets located within this house reflect styles of play, creativity, fortune, and love.
